For five years my family and I had an amazing Mastador (mastiff/an mix) named Kianni. In April 2019, we found out she had stomach cancer and sadly, we had to tell her goodbye. We were all devastated. We loved her so much!!

It took a year before we decided to finally add another dog to the family. In order for us to get a dog, my brother and I had to pressure our parents. Finally, on August 28th, 2020 ,we told our father that my mom, brother, and I were going to go “look” at rescue dogs at an animal shelter called Special Pals.

 

When we arrived, we slowly walked down the aisle until we saw a few dogs that we liked. The first one we met was adorable, but he was too big. Then we met medium-sized dog which ended up being the perfect size for us. She was the quietest and calmest one there! One of the staff members shared with us that they found her on the city streets so we new that she was a survivor. We ended up liking her a lot and took her home. Lexie was already the name given to her so we decided to keep it and she has been a great addition to the family every since!

 

Why did we come up with Scavy’s Treats?

Well, Lexi is a scavenger! Do not let that calm nature of hers fool you. Even though she gets well-fed at home, she will still scour thorough all of the trash cans in the house and dig in the backyard. She even has jumped on the kitchen counter and eaten a whole sandwich, when she knows that we are watching her. She is a sneaky scavenger so we named her Scavy for short. We knew that we had to satisfy her appetite somehow. We decided to create dog treats for her and asked ourselves, why not create a business? Hence, the idea of Scavy’s Treats! We knew we wanted to name the business after Lexie of course. And what better name to pick than Scavy? Our goal is to create treats with yummy, clean ingredients that would satisfy any hungry pup. So we hope that Scavy’s Treats satisfies your friendly scavenger as it does ours!
